A Leader’s Tool: Developmental Conversations with Employees – Tallinn

The aim of the training is to give team leaders the elements from which they can put together a 1:1 conversation format that suits them and fulfils their objectives, while focusing primarily on the employee’s needs and paying attention to them. Such conversations are also a good way for a manager to notice early signs of stress, overload or declining motivation. The second aim of the training is to provide an overview of how, from a manager’s perspective, these mental health challenges can be most successfully prevented and identified. Topics covered in the training: The purpose and meaning of the conversation: operational everyday conversations versus an annual developmental review. Preparing for the conversation and involving the employee. Giving recognition in a genuine and sincere way. Coaching feedback and feedforward: when, why and how? Warning signs indicating mental health problems and how to talk about them with an employee. Coping with possible reactions.
