AI in HR: Recruitment and Employee Development

Job postings, interview preparation, onboarding new employees and development plans—HR involves many tasks where AI can help save time and organise ideas. In this practical workshop, we’ll look at how to use AI at different stages of the employee journey, from recruitment to supporting learning and development. We’ll try out specific tasks and discuss how to assess the quality of results, protect people’s data and spot potential bias.

In the workshop, you will:
- See how to use AI to draft job postings and prepare interview questions.
- Explore ways to create onboarding plans and guidance materials for new employees.
- Try using AI to prepare for performance reviews and create learning and development plans.
- Practise writing prompts and refining AI responses.
- Get a clearer understanding of what data to share with AI and where human judgement and oversight are needed.

By the end of the workshop, you will have a practical example for an HR task and a clearer understanding of how to apply AI in your day-to-day work.

**Who is the workshop for?** HR managers and specialists, recruiters, team leaders and entrepreneurs involved in finding, onboarding or developing employees.

Bring a laptop. It may be helpful to have an HR task in mind that you’d like to make easier with AI. You can also practise with a fictional example.

The workshop will be led by Inna Švartsman, programme director and lecturer in AI-based software technologies and entrepreneurship at Eesti Ettevõtluskõrgkool Mainor. Inna holds a master’s degree in informatics. She has worked as a lecturer at TalTech and as a software development engineer at Skype. Inna has taught practical AI training sessions and courses for adult learners covering the use of ChatGPT and Claude, business process automation, and critical evaluation of AI-generated output.
