Join us for a macaron-making workshop, where we will discover one of France’s most elegant and recognisable pastry desserts. At the workshop, macarons will introduce us to French pastry traditions, precision, and the delicate balance of flavour, texture, and aesthetics. These small, colourful almond cookies have become a symbol of Parisian pastry shops: with their delicate, lightly crisp shells, soft centres, and rich fillings, they can turn even an ordinary moment into a small celebration.

Step by step, we will learn how to make macaron shells—from choosing the right ingredients and weighing them accurately to preparing the almond flour and icing sugar, practising the macaronage technique, piping the shells, and baking them. We will pay particular attention to the details that make a successful macaron: how to achieve a smooth, glossy surface, an even shape, the characteristic ruffled “feet,” and the right texture, so the shells are lightly crisp on the outside and soft inside.

We will also prepare two different fillings and explore their flavours, consistencies, and how they work together. You will learn how to make a balanced filling that complements the delicate almond flavour, achieve the right cream texture, and use the right amount of filling so the macarons are not only beautiful but also enjoyable to eat.

At the end, we will neatly arrange the macarons we have baked and filled with two different fillings in takeaway boxes. Each participant will leave with new knowledge and practical skills, as well as an elegantly presented French dessert they have made themselves—to enjoy with family and friends or give as a special, personal gift.

This workshop is suitable both for those trying their hand at making macarons for the first time and for those who have baked them before but would like to understand the technical details and achieve consistent, high-quality results. Bring your curiosity, creativity, and desire to learn the art of French pastry, where precision, refined flavours, and aesthetic pleasure come together.
