A Day of Tantra: Saturday

Sometimes nothing dramatic happens — I simply notice at some point that I’ve somehow drifted further away from myself.

Too often, everyday life fills up with doing, organising and moving around, while our attention stays elsewhere for a long time. Only later do we notice that our body is tense, our sleep restless, or that we’ve quietly become disconnected from ourselves and our needs.

A Day of Tantra is one day when we can do the opposite. Slow down. Notice. Feel. Be. Experience. Enjoy.

The November Tantric Saturday is dedicated to the sacral chakra — our relationship with feeling, desire, pleasure, movement, flow, vulnerability and self-expression.

Throughout the day, we’ll take part in practical tantric practices that support connection with our feelings, desires, pleasure, self-expression and our ability to allow ourselves to experience more.

During the day, we’ll experience:
- a Burn shamanic breathing and somatic movement practice;
- an opening circle and introduction;
- small-group sharing on feelings, pleasure, sexuality and self-expression;
- Kundalini meditation;
- a group practice exploring our desires, needs, asking and expressing boundaries;
- a Yoni–Lingam blessing / Puja ritual;
- a closing circle and integration;
- plenty of breaks and a 1.5-hour lunch break.

The day moves from a more active and expressive morning towards increasingly deeper connection, vulnerability and intimacy.

At the heart of the practices are very simple questions: What am I feeling? What do I want? Do I dare to express it? Can I hear NO? Can I say NO myself?

No prior experience with tantric practices is necessary. It’s enough to feel this within yourself: Yes. This is for me. I want to dedicate this day to myself.

Touch is part of some practices, but always within the bounds of awareness, agreement and personal boundaries.
