When the clouds roam at night, Mother sings you a little lullaby. Close your eyes and don’t cry; sleep, sleep, my sunshine… A cosy, warm room belonging to a mother, perhaps a little too cluttered with things. Among lace of every shape and colour, piles of boxes and sweet custard-filled pastries, Mother Telma and her grown-up daughter Jessie spend the evening. But the familiar, recognisable routine is suddenly interrupted by Jessie’s words about her plans to take her own life. This news becomes the starting point, compelling the women to look at each other more attentively and reconsider life and death.
