Ecstatic Dance and Workshop with Mikko Heikinpoika (FIN)

On December 12, join us at Taiji Club for a special journey through music and sound, where voice, rhythm, improvisation and free movement come together. Our guest is Finnish musician, vocalist and producer Mikko Heikinpoika, one of the driving forces behind Ecstatic Dance culture. He brings two special experiences: a workshop exploring voice and collective creation, followed by an immersive Ecstatic Dance evening. The day invites you to explore yourself through sound and movement, let go of expectations and allow the music to carry you.

15:00–18:00 WORKSHOP OCEAN OF SOUND – A journey through voice, rhythm and collective creation

What happens when we let go of the idea that we have to sing correctly and simply allow ourselves to make sound? Ocean of Sound is a playful, immersive journey into the endless possibilities of the human voice. Through guided exercises, vocal exploration, movement, listening and group improvisation, we explore how music emerges from within us and between us. We discover the connection between breath, voice and body, experiment with different sounds and rhythms, and experience how individual voices can come together as one living ocean of sound.

19:00–22:00 ECSTATIC DANCE DJ HEIKINPOIKA (FIN) – Ecstatic Dance Journey

Get ready for a deep and multidimensional musical journey! Mikko Heikinpoika is a Finnish musician, producer and one of the driving forces behind Ecstatic Dance Helsinki. For nearly a decade, he has helped shape and grow Ecstatic Dance culture in Finland, creating spaces for free movement, authentic self-expression and connection through music. His musical journeys are rich and dynamic, weaving together organic rhythms, hypnotic electronic sounds, deep bass and evocative soundscapes. Moving between tenderness and intensity, introspection and wild self-expression, his sets invite dancers to explore the full spectrum of movement and emotion.

Mikko’s background in global music, ritual music and improvisation gives his DJ sets a distinctive sensitivity. As a musician, he knows how to listen and feel; as a facilitator, he senses the energy of the dance floor. Each sound journey unfolds organically, making room for surrender and celebration, powerful release and deep stillness.

Come as you are. Move as you feel. Let the music take you to places you have not yet encountered.
