The workshop provides a practical overview of how artificial intelligence can be used in office work, focusing on supporting everyday tasks, writing effective prompts, checking results, and the principles of safe and responsible use. It is introductory and suitable for beginners who have tried AI tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot but want to apply them in their work in a practical and safe way.
In the workshop, you will:
- Get an overview of the possibilities and limitations of AI in office work.
- Explore practical examples of how AI can support working with text, organising information, summarising, planning, and other everyday tasks.
- Learn how to phrase questions and instructions so AI gives a precise, usable answer rather than general information.
- Discuss key risks, including data protection, confidentiality, copyright, and the responsible use of AI.
- Look at different AI tools and discuss when their use is appropriate and when caution is needed.
Outcome: Participants will gain practical ideas and techniques for using AI in everyday office work, along with a better understanding of how to use AI tools thoughtfully, effectively, and safely.
The workshop lasts 4 academic hours and combines brief explanations, practical examples, discussion, and exercises. Participants are asked to bring their own computer for the practical work. To get the most out of the training, participants are advised to have access to at least one AI tool (with an account already created for that tool).
The workshop is led by Merje Vaide, a lecturer and project manager at BCS Koolitus with extensive experience in developing adults’ digital skills.
