Parents and other caregivers in LIEPĀJA — join us for a practical seminar-workshop! What can you do when a conversation with your child turns into an argument and you can’t reach an agreement calmly? How can you maintain your expectations, manage your anger and resolve disagreements without hurting your child?
Bērnu aizsardzības centrs invites you to a practical seminar-workshop as part of the “Mīlestība ir drošība” (Love Is Safety) series of information events.
When: 5 November, 17:00–19:30
Where: Liepāja, Komforta loža at the Olympic Centre, Brīvības iela 39, 3rd floor
At the seminar, family psychotherapy specialist Sarmīte Štāle and physical activity and self-regulation trainer Oskars Špickopfs will discuss familiar everyday parenting situations and look for practical solutions:
- how to distinguish setting firm boundaries from violent behaviour;
- how to recognise signs of rising tension in yourself and stop before losing your temper;
- how to reduce tension using simple body and breathing techniques;
- how to tell a child “no” without hurting or humiliating them;
- where to seek advice and support when you feel uncertain or overwhelmed.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss your family’s experiences and try techniques you can use the next time a difficult situation arises. Clear boundaries and respectful relationships can go hand in hand. We invite you to take part!
