Kaisa Ling and Rene Paul invite you to spend an evening where music, stories about life and everything around it, and a good dose of cabaret come together. Kaisa: “Shall we tell the people what happens at the concert too?” Rene: “Probably.” Kaisa: “Well… you play the piano.” Rene: “Definitely. I even sing sometimes.” Kaisa: “I sing too.” Rene: “Hopefully.” That is more or less how it goes! On stage, songs from Kaisa Ling Thingi’s albums will be heard, along with a few pearls from the bottom of the drawer. They will bring a piano, microphones and dazzling costumes. Kaisa: I sing about things that we sometimes don’t dare to talk about. This way, we can shake all those taboos clean. Rene: I play the piano as if I had a personal score to settle with it. This is not a concert where you have to sit quietly with your back straight and applaud politely at the right moment. You may laugh. You may nod along. You may sing along. Sometimes you may even get a little sentimental. Kaisa Ling is Estonia’s best (even if only) cabaret-blues lady. Sharp humour, admonishment and teasing go hand in hand with her pain over the state of the world. Rene Paul is a pianist and comedian who takes the stage knowing that if the piano is not smoking and the audience is not laughing, the evening has not yet begun. When the revelry and musical antics briefly subside, Rene’s bluesman’s soul is revealed, making even the toughest men sigh with emotion. They do not even know exactly what will happen that evening. And that is precisely why it is worth coming along and experiencing it for yourself!
