A musical youth play
Without artificial intelligence, we could no longer imagine modern life. After lengthy testing and thorough research, a solution has finally been found for young people’s mental health concerns as well. Eighteen young people arrive at a retreat, where they are met by ELO, the artificial intelligence of a youth psychological counselling centre—an AI that promises to help them find inner peace. Their phones are taken away, their names are replaced with numbers, and games, questions and tasks begin, intended to help them better understand themselves and others. The pressure to be perfect. The fear of failing. Control and anger. Loneliness. A friendship that has caused pain. Parents’ expectations. Love that cannot be put into words. And secrets carried with them for too long. There are many worries, and solutions are still nowhere in sight. “Seventeen Steps to Myself” is a sharp, honest and at times painfully funny social drama about young people who have been unwillingly sent to deal with their problems. The door has been locked, but can anyone get out?
