Light in Babylon is an internationally acclaimed ethno-folk ensemble that began on the streets of Istanbul more than 15 years ago. Combining passionate vocals, the magical sound of the santur, and the soundscapes of the Mediterranean and Middle East, the band creates music that transcends national and cultural borders. Their work moves seamlessly between original compositions and contemporary interpretations of traditional sacred Hebrew songs.

The band is driven by a deep desire to connect people through music, regardless of their cultural background. They consider themselves “people of the world,” with a global identity, and place humanity above religion or nationality. They stand for women’s empowerment and promote respect and dignity between the genders.

The singer Michal dreams of one day singing in her parents’ homeland, Iran, where women are currently forbidden from singing in public. With four released albums and more than 35 million YouTube views, the band has rapidly built a growing global audience.

Their enchanting Istanbul sound offers a rare opportunity to experience a concert that is at once intimate, spiritual, and deeply universal. Last time, they captivated Tallinn audiences with their powerful live performance and deeply human message. This time, they will take the experience even further!
