In the small hall of Von Krahli Teater, 52-year-old Mart and 32-year-old Priit meet. Two bodies carrying meanings they have chosen for themselves, as well as those others have ascribed to them. Their dialogue is not merely their own dialogue—here, conformists and radicals, cholerics and phlegmatics, attackers and goalkeepers, pioneers and millennials, bald men and bearded men, young people who do not drink or party, and middle-aged people who are constantly hungover collide. Everyone is convinced that their worldview is valid and ready to defend it passionately. What happens when these worlds collide? Mart Kangro and Priit Põldma’s collaborative production is an exploration of identity and the points of contact and collision between generations. They present their positions, trying to understand whether these are truly personal or shaped by something else—generational attitudes, context and the prevailing climate. Is it possible in today’s world to say something that would not sound like a parody of itself? Kangro and Põldma’s previous joint work was titled “Comedy.” “Parody” promises to be even darker and more serious than “Comedy.” No kidding.
