Johan Randvere (piano). Night Glow

Johan Randvere, one of Estonia’s leading pianists, gives a solo concert at the Arvo Pärt Centre, weaving together different musical worlds and allowing the piano to resound in the full richness of its tonal colours. From the monumental Bach–Busoni Chaconne to Kancheli’s poetic miniatures, from Rautavaara’s colourful études to Sibelius’s introspective impromptus, each work highlights a new aspect of the piano’s boundless expressive possibilities. Often, simple musical material gains impact through repetition, varied use of registers and silence, and despite the technical demands, a contemplative and meditative mood remains.
