Active in Berlin since 2001, The Ocean has moved through various line-ups and creative periods, developing into one of the most distinctive names in contemporary heavy music. The band’s music features influences from progressive metal, ambient and electronic music. Their recently released album “Solaris” opens a new chapter for The Ocean. The album was created after major changes in the band’s line-up and continues the dystopian and existential themes of “Holocene”. At the centre of the record are cosmic escapism, voyages of discovery, and questions about technological progress, power and human nature.

Over the years, The Ocean have performed around the world and toured with artists such as Opeth, Karnivool, Leprous and Katatonia. Their albums “Pelagial”, “Phanerozoic I & II” and “Holocene” have brought the band international recognition, and “Phanerozoic II” reached the Top 10 of Germany’s official album chart.

Psychonaut are a psychedelic post-metal trio from Mechelen, Belgium. Despite their classic three-piece line-up, their sound is broad and detailed, carrying a strong narrative and emotional charge. Their 2024 album “World Maker” marks an important turning point in the band’s work. Inspired by personal life changes, fatherhood and loss, it shifts the focus from the philosophical complexity of earlier releases towards clearer and more direct emotional expression. The record centres on presence, acceptance, and an awareness of the fragility and beauty of life, while retaining Psychonaut’s characteristic powerful and captivating sound.

Pothamus

Pothamus are a sludge/post-metal trio formed in Mechelen, Belgium, in 2013. Their music is based on repetitive riffs, floating drones, shamanic vocals, tribal rhythms and aggressive bass lines. The band combines its sound with metaphysics and philosophy, creating a distinctive worldview centred on acting together, letting go and collective catharsis, while inviting listeners to abandon habitual beliefs and social constructs. Their 2025 album “ABUR” (Pelagic Records) takes their sound towards an even more intense and cohesive experience, addressing chaos as a creative force.
