Niinagu

The camera’s eye moves through a dewy meadow toward evening. A picturesque and fast-paced visual performance with few words, also suitable for the youngest theatre-goers (from the age of 3). The performance was inspired by the colourful work of Estonian artist Kristi Kangilaski and her painting “Tulipead”. The performance expresses pure emotion and uses intuition and the joy of creation—moving and creating exactly as one feels. Performed by two actors, a wild and playful world full of encounters comes to life on stage. This is a journey theatre production (road movie), in which 40+ distinctive characters fly across the stage—from blazing tulip flowers to trick-playing foreign chickens, nonsensical fish and mud-bath creatures. On stage: Grete Jürgenson, Ilo-Ann Saarepera. Director, dramaturg and technical artist: Rene Liivamägi. Inspirational artist: Kristi Kangilaski. Composer and musical designer: Lauri Lüdimois. Poster painting: Kristi Kangilaski. Producer: Kersti Niglas. Premiere on 3 December 2026 in the small hall of Tartu Uus Teater.
