A collective based in Belgium that draws inspiration from ancient Mesopotamia, its myths and legends. The band’s music intertwines elements of doom, drone and psychedelia into compositions carried by hypnotic repetitions and a sense of monumentality. It is like a journey through deserts forgotten by history, where rhythm and melody help evoke a different passage of time.

For ten years, this mysterious collective from Croydon, South London, has practised musical hypnosis through its captivating discography. With the album “Apeiron”, Five The Hierophant has found the ultimate formula of its music, its quintessence, skilfully and delicately weaving together the various elements that shape its highly distinctive sound. At the boundaries of doom, drone, jazz and post-metal, Five The Hierophant’s music is a true sonic adventure, enhanced by Jon Roffey’s inimitable saxophone, creating soundscapes reminiscent of dark and meditative rituals.
