Please note! The production “The Collector” takes place in the small hall of Südalinna Teater. Frederick Clegg lives alone, works at an employment centre and collects butterflies. He is infatuated with Miranda, a student at an art college, whom he secretly observes, not daring to speak to her. Unexpectedly, Clegg wins a large sum of money in the lottery. He buys an isolated house outside the city, kidnaps Miranda and keeps her in the basement, hoping that one day she will come to love him. The production “The Collector” is a chamber drama that explores the delicate boundary between care and covert forms of control and power. At its centre is a tense conflict between freedom and dependence, in which violence is disguised as care, attention and apparent love.
