Kammerkoor Encore’s 10th Anniversary Concert “Wait for Me Still”

Ten years. Hundreds of rehearsals. Dozens of concerts. Competition wins, premieres, tours, large stages and small moments. And above all, people and music to return to time and again. Kammerkoor Encore celebrates its 10th anniversary with the grand concert “Wait for Me Still” on 14 November at 19:00 at Viimsi Artium.

The two halves of the anniversary concert look at Encore’s story from two different angles.

Part I – “Coming Home”

The programme includes Tõnu Kõrvits’s “Miikaeli laulud”, Lembit Veevo’s “Kadakad”, Veljo Tormis’s “Kuulmata kuskil kumiseb kodu”, and a new work by our conductor Karin Tuul. These are songs about home and roots, but also about the journey and longing.

Part II – “Nostalgia”

It’s time to party! Accompanied by the band Dance-o-Phones, the choir’s ensembles and soloists will perform. The programme features hits made famous by Tõnis Mägi, Els Himma, Marju Kuut, Ivo Linna, Heidy Tamme, Jaak Joala, Jaan Tätte and Marten Kuningas.

The retro hits come from Encore members’ childhoods or are close to their hearts for some other reason. Encore’s first joint venture was taking part in a competition organised for choirs by Eesti Laul, where we recorded our version of the song “Oota mind veel” by Marten Kuningas and Mahavok. At the same time, no choir celebration is complete without Jaan Tätte’s hit “Silveri laul”.

The concert is free for children aged 7 and under, people with special needs, and their companions.
