Peaasi.ee/Kinoteater: Ordinary Estonian Men on Stage with the Stand-Up Show “We Don’t Talk About Mental Health”

Twelve completely ordinary Estonian men take the stage, none of whom are personally affected by mental health issues. But they all know a guy who knows a guy who knows… In autumn 2025, Peaasi.ee and Kinoteater invited men to apply for a comedy-writing course, and by the end of the year, twenty selected participants had successfully completed the course. Twelve of them will appear before an audience for the first time to share stories, experiences and incidents from their lives. Peaasi.ee and Kinoteater are interested in people’s well-being. This is their second collaboration, based on stories. While, as part of Tartu 2024, people from Southern Estonia—most of whom were women—were given a voice in the project “Mental Health Is Like a Carrot,” the focus is now on the permanent crisis group: men.
