Tallinn Pelgulinna State Gymnasium (PERG) was completed in autumn 2023, when three state gymnasiums opened in Tallinn at the same time—in Mustamäe, Pelgulinn and Tõnismäe. PERG is one of Estonia’s largest wooden buildings. PERG is a distinctive and unifying learning environment for more than a thousand young people—students in grades 10–12. PERG is not merely a school building. It is an education, culture and community centre where people work together and flexibly. As one of PERG’s principles puts it: we do not create a boring school, nor do we do things boringly. In addition to getting acquainted with the building, the tour offers an opportunity to hear about studying and working at PERG, as well as the joy of creating a new school. The building tour lasts approximately 80 minutes and is led by PERG’s community manager, Laura Toots.
