Comedy Theatre performance “Duets”

“Duets” is a fast-paced play in which four different couples find themselves in often comic and spicy situations. Actors Merle Palmiste and Raivo E. Tamm appear in four short stories: Blind Date, Secretary, Divorce and Wedding. We see dates filled with anticipation, unrequited and reciprocated feelings, lively break-ups, and also a wedding celebration whose bride—about to marry for the third time—refuses to step out the door. The production offers recognition, laughter and the ever-present hope that the best is yet to come. The author of “Duets”, Peter Quilter, is a contemporary English playwright whose works have been translated into 30 languages and performed all over the world, including on Broadway and in the West End. Six of his plays have been staged in Estonia, including the hugely successful “Snowed In”, which was performed at our Comedy Theatre no fewer than 170 times. “Brilliant!” has been part of the repertoires of both the Estonian Drama Theatre and Vanemuine. The production “Duets” was created at Ajateater in summer 2024, directed by Anne Velt, and now continues its run at the Comedy Theatre. Duration: 2 hours including an interval of approximately 20 minutes.
