After sold-out shows at Edinburgh Fringe, a successful European tour and a successful run at New York’s Soho Theatre, Emmanuel Sonubi returns with a polished version of his now-hit show, “Life After Near Death”.

Deeply personal yet wildly funny, “Life After Near Death” explores what happens when life suddenly knocks you off your feet in the most dramatic way possible. After surviving a cardiac arrest while performing on stage, Emmanuel had to confront everything: identity, mortality, fatherhood and the absurdity of hospital gowns. He approaches it all through the only lens he truly knows: stand-up comedy.

The result is a witty, uplifting and unflinchingly honest show about resilience, recovery and those strange, funny moments that appear just when you least expect them.

Emmanuel is one of the UK’s most in-demand comedians, known for his stage energy and engaging stories. His unique style, shaped by real-life experiences, has earned him several award nominations, including the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer (2022) and Best Show (2023), the Chortle Award for Best Club Comedian (2023), and the Mervyn Stutters Spirit of the Fringe Award (2025).
