RAIM – A musical summer production about Raimond Valgre, 28 July–8 August 2027 / in the courtyard of Pärnu Kuursaal. In July and August 2027, the summer production RAIM will once again bring the story of Raimond Valgre to the courtyard of Pärnu Kuursaal. Raimond was a pop star before the word even existed. A moving story, live music and energetic dance take us back through his summers in Pärnu (1939–1949), from bitterness to great dreams. An enchanting theatrical experience awaits you on a summer evening in Pärnu. The production reveals Raimond Valgre’s story as we have never seen it before. The setting is the present-day Kuursaal—the former Rannasalong, where Valgre could be seen playing the piano, guitar, accordion or drums, and where his music first swung through free-spirited summer nights. The summer production follows Raimond Valgre’s summers in Pärnu—from 1939 to 1949—but moves backwards in time. In this way, the journey becomes a poetic retrospective: the audience sees Raimond’s life not fading away, but beginning to shine. In Kaili Viidas’s production, young actors, musicians and dancers of today’s generation take the stage, helping to keep alive an idealistic belief in a better tomorrow. Across three acts, the artists combine live music, dance and drama to bring to the stage both legendary songs and the person behind them—contradictory, vulnerable, passionate and gentle. RAIM is the story of a composer whose songs are an inseparable part of Estonian culture, and of a city that gave those songs the everlasting light of an endless summer. CAST: Sander Roosimägi, Simeoni Sundja, Hardi Möller (Eesti Noorsooteater), Mihkel Kuusk, Johannes Richard Sepping (Rakvere Teater), Hele Palumaa (Tallinna Linnateater), Luisa Lõhmus, Saara Kaljujärv, Silva Pijon (Must Kast), Hardo Adamson, Harriet Toompere (Eesti Draamateater), Carmen Mikiver (Endla Teater), Indrek Taalmaa, Argo Aadli (Tallinna Linnateater), musicians, dancers.
