Gerda Kordemets’s original play “SHIPS FREEZE SLOWLY”
7–18 July 2027 / in the hall of Tõstamaa Manor
A sad comedy in two acts
This is a story about difference and distinctiveness. About the clash between a sense of duty and love. And about how easily one can fall victim to the manipulation of the wrong person—a guru or mentor.
The summer production “Ships Freeze Slowly” was once the most ominous phrase in weather forecasts. It meant that ships were in danger of becoming imperceptibly frozen in place. In this play, however, the title refers more to becoming trapped in the bonds of beliefs and feelings.
What is mightier—to be human or to be a god?
The action of this tragicomic story with elements of fantasy unfolds at a weather station, where two forecasters, a weather girl and a pendulum man arrange and resolve relationships and fight for their happiness.
