Lyyra is a brand-new, thoroughly American vocal ensemble consisting entirely of women. Their programme “Rising” ranges from early music to jazz and pop from different cultures, and introduces the ensemble’s first album, which will be released under the Warner Classics label.
Lyyra was also founded by the iconic vocal ensemble VOCES8, which recently performed in Estonia. The sound of this new ensemble, offering a fresh perspective on the possibilities and role of women’s voices in vocal music, combines a rich, velvety timbre with a bright, pure tone.
“We are exceptionally pleased to welcome Lyyra to the Warner Classics family. Although the ensemble was founded only recently, they have quickly become one of the world’s most captivating vocal ensembles. They skilfully transcend stylistic boundaries and inspire listeners both through their music and their educational programmes.” – Alain Lanceron, President of Warner Classics
The concert includes an interval; duration approximately 1 hour 40 minutes.
