The Sound of Estonia
Sten Heinoja (piano)
VHK Orchestra
Conductor Rasmus Puur

Programme: Rasmus Puur’s arrangements of Estonian choral classics: Saar, Kõrvits, Tubin, Pärt, Kõlar and others.

To mark Estonia’s birthday, one of the outstanding pianists of his generation, Sten Heinoja, and the string orchestra of the Old Town Educational College (VHK), conducted by Rasmus Puur, come together for three evenings in Tallinn, Tartu and Pärnu. A long-awaited and long-planned collaboration is finally taking place. Together, they reflect through music on home and country, on the past, present and future. This is done through the works of our own composers, offering both unexpected discoveries and familiar pieces.

The concert includes an interval; duration approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.
