A family portrait. The members of the Lafayette clan have long since grown estranged from one another. Once the stipulated period has passed since the death of the head of the family, two brothers and a sister return with their families and partners to the crumbling house of their childhood, amid debts, clutter and memories, to divide up their recently deceased father’s inheritance. A shocking discovery from the family’s past comes to light, only adding fuel to the fire. A tragicomedy in the spirit of classic American family dramas. Country and city. Wealth and poverty. Different generations and different truths. Caring for children and parents. How do you talk—or remain silent—about the past?
Premiere on 25 October 2024 at Rakvere Theatre’s main house.
