Rock Band Competition “Chemical Reaction”

On 21 November at 16:00, the 23rd young rock band competition “Chemical Reaction” will take place at Forštates kultūrtelpa. This year, eight bands will take part—the largest number of participants in recent seasons. The bands “Diversity”, “Līdaka”, “LOPI”, “Mod Dudes”, “Shelling”, “Silentium”, “Конец Второго Фронта” and “Yagmorth” will perform. Each band will play a programme of original compositions. A jury of experienced rock musicians will evaluate the performances, selecting the three best bands as well as the best instrumentalists and vocalists. The event programme will take the form of a six-hour rock marathon. Young performers will also appear at the beginning, while special guests—the band “Dark Matter” and the Līvāni trio “Jauda”—will entertain visitors at the end of the evening. The aim of the “Chemical Reaction” competition is to give young musicians an opportunity to present their creative work, gain stage experience and make connections with others in the rock music scene. Free admission. Information: Daugavpils City Education, Youth and Sports Administration.
