You’ll visit the astronomical observatory located in Munalaskme. See the map: https://bit.ly/2XxVpu1
1. See what the observatory looks like inside. It was rebuilt from a water tower over a little more than three years. You’ll also hear its unusual story.
2. We’ll show you our telescopes and explain how the observatory’s equipment works.
3. You’ll get to touch the Sikhote-Alin meteorite, a messenger from space, with your own hands. It travelled billions of kilometres before reaching Earth and ending up at our observatory.
If the sky is clear: We’ll observe our Universe through a telescope. Depending on the season and time of day, we may see planets in the Solar System, the Moon, galaxies, star clusters, nebulae, and even our Sun through a special solar telescope.
If it’s cloudy on the day of the tour: Yes, that happens in our country. But we still have interesting things to show you! The tour will go ahead as planned. Instead of observing the sky, we’ll turn our attention to the microworld. A powerful laboratory microscope will show you things that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
P.S. Please bring indoor shoes and warm clothing!
P.P.S. The tour time can be changed no later than 7 days before the visit. Want a tour with a guaranteed clear sky? We’re still learning how to influence the weather :) But we can already offer something: https://fienta.com/et/ekskursioon-11503
