An immersive book presentation
Welcome to A Story of Sweden — an immersive book presentation. In collaboration with Platåbergens Unesco Globala Geopark and Naturskyddsföreningen Skövde, geology professor Alasdair Skelton invites you to an immersive presentation of the new popular science book A Story of Sweden, which he wrote together with communicator My Schüldt. The presentation, in which we literally roll out geological time, will be followed by a book sale and signing.
Do you know how the Platåbergen formed? Do you know the peneplain’s secret about the development of life? Did you know that mountains as high as the Andes are today once existed here? A Story of Sweden takes you on a journey through three billion years, during which geological forces have repeatedly shaped the landscape, created wealth in ores and minerals, and laid the foundations for our prosperity. It is both a history lesson in geological time and a tribute to the mighty Swedish natural world.
