Taul & Taul Winter Solstice Concert

The Tauls’ winter solstice concert, now a tradition, is back! On Saturday, 19 December 2026 at 18:00, we will celebrate the magical solstice with music and songs. This time, the concert will begin in a special way: we will ceremonially open the Torupillitalu exhibition corner and history chest! You can see what exciting things they contain when you arrive.

The solstice concert has two parts. The first takes listeners into the mood of the approaching holidays, with Anu, Triinu and Tõnis Taul’s improvised music and songs interwoven with Erkki Peetsalu’s poems and reflections.

Anu and Triinu Taul are singers and songwriters who have studied and developed their skills in various vocal techniques and have now found their own unique path in music. The sisters’ singing is sensitive and touches the deeper strings of the soul. They are inspired by cultural heritage and a close connection with nature; their musical language is varied, and their work has deep shades of sound. Their brother Tõnis Taul is also a musician and songwriter, enriching their shared sound with a variety of instruments. All the songs and instrumental pieces performed at the concert are their own compositions. Erkki Peetsalu is a lyricist whose words Anu has set to music for a whole album’s worth of songs, and more.

In the second half of the evening, Anu, Triinu and Tõnis will be joined on stage by their brother, bagpipe maker Andrus Taul, and their father, Ants Taul, the proprietor of Torupillitalu. You will hear the Taul family play together, and of course the evening will also feature bagpipe music—and perhaps a surprise or two!
