Why do we love our children? Is it because they can sing, dance or draw wonderfully? Or perhaps simply because they are our children, and therefore the sweetest and best of all? Little Jurītis is also loved and pampered by everyone on the farm, despite the various troubles he gets into. Will Jurītis, bundled up so much that even the hedgehogs laugh, become a good swineherd? No—but he will save the fierce goat from being sold. Oh, mushroom picking turns into a frightening adventure. And a simple trip to church on Christmas Eve ends in great alarm for everyone when Jurītis goes missing in a snowstorm. But does that make Jurītis any less lovable?
In the play, the story of Tuntuļu Jurītis is told by four farm girls who are making Christmas gifts—toys—at the farm. When the work becomes too monotonous, the girls begin playing with the dolls they have made, and the story of Tuntuļu Jurītis begins. Dolls and direction by Inguna Radziņa.
