This autumn, the Jūrmala Open-Air Museum is launching a new event: the “An Afternoon at the Museum” series of gatherings. The aim is to foster cooperation between the museum and the residents of Buļļuciems by inviting them to meet in a relaxed atmosphere and explore a variety of topics, while also encouraging community involvement in the museum’s activities. Each gathering will focus on a different topic and feature discussions, lectures and practical workshops. The first gathering will take place on 17 November at 14:00, when Jūrmala Museum researcher Līga Strazda will speak on “Andrejs Šulcs and his plans for a fishermen’s museum at the Uzvara fishing collective farm”. Those interested should register in advance by calling +371 67754909.
