Historical Photo Identification Day

On 23 November, from 12:00 to 17:00, Auce City Library will host a historical photo identification day. All enthusiasts of Auce’s history, local-history researchers and anyone who cares about preserving the history of their region are invited to take part. The library’s local-history collection holds valuable historical photographs capturing people, places and events, some of which have yet to be identified. To help identify the people shown in the photographs and establish where and when the events depicted took place, the library invites the community to join in this collective work of remembering and discovering history. You may be able to recognise a long-forgotten place, someone you know or an event that will help add to the story of Auce’s history. Every memory, story and detail can help preserve our region’s cultural heritage for future generations.

You can take part at any time that suits you between 12:00 and 17:00. No special knowledge of history is needed—just curiosity, attentiveness and a willingness to share your memories. We invite you to come along and bring older family members, friends and acquaintances whose memories may help uncover previously unknown facts about Auce’s history. Together, let’s give the old photographs a voice and help preserve the historical record of Auce!
