Līvi’s 50th Anniversary Concert
- When
- Sunday 22.11.2026 · 18:00Local time (Europe/Riga)
The anniversary concert series will be an emotional journey through Līvi’s history—from the band’s beginnings to the present day. Audiences will hear both the most iconic hits, recorded in the golden treasury of Latvian rock music, and songs rarely performed live that hold a special place in the band’s and fans’ hearts: “Spoku koks,” “Dzezsgriezējs,” “Dzimtā valoda,” “Rožu laukums,” “Es karājos tavā bizē,” and others. The sound will also be enhanced by symphony orchestra musicians: Baiba Lasmane, Agrita Hrustaļova and Ingus Grīnbergs (violins), trumpeters Matīss Smiltiņš and Kristers Ketverts, and trombonist Dāvis Matīss Leišavnieks.
This will be more than a concert—it will be a celebration, a chance to remember, and a display of live rock energy that brings generations together. Līvi have always been more than a band: they tell stories of freedom, defiance, love, and staying true to oneself. The band’s leader, Ainars Virga, who has devoted 40 years of his life to Līvi, says: “In my opinion, the secret to a band’s lasting existence is simple and clear: it’s important to love what you do. And we should remember that everything is still ahead of us!” The band’s vocalist, Jānis Buķelis, adds: “Singing hits that are almost like national anthems is a huge responsibility. And in fact, all the songs are great, and each one carries a special message.”
