On 22 November at 16:00 at Suntaži Cultural House: Andrejs Ēķis’s spy thriller “The Dark Border,” starring Jēkabs Reinis, Vilis Daudziņš, Kaspars Zvīgulis and Kaspars Znotiņš. In 1938, Latvian counterintelligence officer Baltais is sent on a secret mission to a border town. Under the guise of journalist Ilmārs Blanks, he tries to recover information vital to national security and expose a Russian agent. Baltais finds himself in a place like a narrow strip between two worlds, concealing the truth about the mysterious murder of the woman he loved. “Although the film is set in 1938, the questions it raises are relevant today as well: what our country means to us and how our choices affect its future. The film invites us to reflect on loyalty, responsibility, and the boundary between good and evil,” says Jēkabs Reinis, who plays the leading role. Tickets can be purchased at the venue on the day of the event, with cash payment. Ticket price: 3 euros.
