Lawyer Advice Service, Autumn 2026

Free lawyer consultations are held at Jyväskylä Main Library (Meeting Room, 2nd floor, next to the children’s section) on the first Wednesday of each month from 17:00 to 19:00. PLEASE NOTE! Due to high demand, queue numbers for the service are allocated by lottery. The draw takes place at 16:45 at the adult section’s service desk on the 2nd floor of the main library, among everyone present at that time who wishes to see a lawyer. Eight queue numbers are distributed. The autumn 2026 consultation dates are: 2 September, 7 October, 4 November and 2 December. The service offers free advice on legal matters. Each client is allocated a maximum of 15 minutes. The lawyer will explain whether it is necessary to seek legal expert assistance and, if needed, refer the client to a lawyer familiar with the matter or to the appropriate authority. Documents are not drafted and other assignments are not handled during the consultation. Discussions with the lawyer during the consultation are always confidential. Appointments cannot be booked, and advice cannot be provided by phone. The service is organised by Suomen Asianajajat.
