The original and moving film Wicker – Woven from Passion is a comedy about marriage and the absurdity of social norms, starring Oscar winner Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård. A single fisherwoman (Olivia Colman) has had enough of the villagers’ narrow-mindedness and decides to order herself a husband—from a local basket maker (Peter Dinklage), made of willow. The man woven from willow (Alexander Skarsgård) proves to have more husband potential than she could have expected. Her unexpected spouse awakens new feelings in her and sets off a wave of infatuation, jealousy, and upheaval that threatens to shake the entire village community. This sharp-tongued, humorous comedy, which boldly breaks with convention, invites us to consider love and marriage from an entirely new perspective. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2026.
