Teatteri Repliikki presents *Glorious!* at Kulttuurisuoja

Florence Foster Jenkins was a woman who loved music more than anything else—even though her singing was anything but perfect. *Glorious!* is a hilarious, heartwarming comedy based on the true story of a woman who believed in her dream with all her heart. Set in New York in 1944, the play follows Florence on her journey towards her legendary concert at Carnegie Hall, supported by her friends and her devoted pianist, Cosme. Along the way, situations arise that have audiences laughing until tears stream down their faces. The play reminds us that the courage to be yourself can be the greatest gift of all. This feel-good summer theatre comedy offers music, big emotions and, above all, plenty of laughter. Minna Tuomanen, who won great acclaim last year as Hyacinth Bucket, plays Florence Foster Jenkins. Jouni Huhtaniemi, a versatile performer familiar from several stages, plays Florence’s boyfriend, St. Clair Bayfield. Skilled pianist Anton Linja plays Florence’s accompanist, Cosme McMoon. The delightful Rauha Howe plays Florence’s devoted friend Dorothy. Heidi Laasanen brings joy to the roles of the strong-willed and fiery Marian and Mrs. Verringer-Gedge.
