Part of the Jämsänjokilaakso Savings Bank Foundation lecture series, with local heritage councillor Hannu Ahlstedt as the speaker. The centre of this rural municipality began to change from a low-rise area dominated by wooden buildings to one of stone buildings, and the first apartment blocks and terraced houses appeared in the streetscape. The centre of activity shifted to the east side of the river. New schools, shops and public spaces were built. The municipality moved towards becoming a city via the market town stage. All lectures are free of charge and are held in the multipurpose space at Jämsä Main Library. The lectures can accommodate around 50 people. Organised by the Savings Bank Foundation. For further information, contact administrator Hannu Syvänen at 040 054 8508 or hannu.syvanen@saastopankki.fi.
