Wicker – Woven from Passion is an original and stirring comedy about marriage and the absurdity of society’s conventions, starring Oscar winner Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård. A single fisherwoman (Olivia Colman), fed up with the narrow-mindedness of the villagers, decides to order herself a husband—from a local basket weaver (Peter Dinklage), made of wicker. The wicker man (Alexander Skarsgård) proves to have more husband potential than she could have expected. Her unexpected spouse awakens new feelings in her and sets off a wave of infatuation, jealousy, and upheaval that threatens to unsettle the entire village community. Sharp-tongued, humorous, and boldly challenging conventions, this comedy invites us to consider love and marriage from an entirely new perspective. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2026.
