Joutsan Kino: Red Snow

Martti (Hannu-Pekka Björkman), who is forever suffering a midlife crisis, is a lonely vampire who has found a way to satisfy his endless thirst for blood. Every Christmas, dressed as Santa Claus, he invites himself into the homes of unsuspecting families, leaving utter destruction in his wake as cheerful Christmas carols play in the background. Until one Christmas, when Martti is invited to the home of Johanna (Anni Iikkanen), who dreams of gothic romance, and her family, at her grandmother’s manor. Johanna and Martti’s life goals intersect in the strangest way, but obstacles stand in the way of their shared purpose: Tappara’s man (Kari Hietalahti), who cracks dad jokes; a questionably qualified home-care worker (Krista Kosonen); and a vengeful major (Tommi Korpela). What follows is a merciless Christmas Eve chase in which everyone gets their turn to feel it firsthand. K-16.
