Heavy Metal Thunderstrike Vol. 16

Come celebrate the year’s final HMTS night at Poppari in Jyväskylä, with the following bands taking the stage:

Demon Bitch (USA)
Strange and LOUD Heavy Metal from Detroit! Heavy Metal Thunderstrike is bringing the band to Finland and the Nordic countries for the first time. The band has only rarely played in Europe, at festivals, and now Heavy Metal Thunderstrike is making up for that with three rare club shows. Demon Bitch has been creating magical and utterly original music since 2011. If the band’s first full-length album, Hellfriends, shook the heavy metal world with its originality, the new album Master of the Games mixes things up even more! The band delivers heavy metal featuring neoclassical melodies, fast riffs, and everything in between. If you listen to bands such as Queensrÿche, Crimson Glory, Mercyful Fate, Eternal Champion, or Manowar, Demon Bitch won’t disappoint! This is not to be missed!

White Magician (USA)
White Magician, the second project of the masters familiar from Demon Bitch, is naturally part of this celebration of heavy metal too! It would be completely insane to miss this when the musicians are being flown to Finland from Detroit. You’ll hear influences from bands such as Blue Öyster Cult, Mercyful Fate, and King Diamond. Of course, they bring their own original style rather than cheap copying. The band’s first full-length album, Dealers of Divinity, released in 2020, spins on the HMTS organizers’ own turntable at least once a week. This wonderfully mysterious album reveals new tricks with every listen—come experience them at Poppari with your ears wide open!

Iron Griffin
A magical storm will rage over Poppari as Oskari Räsänen, known from Mausoleum Gate, takes the stage with his solo project and its powerful live lineup at Heavy Metal Thunderstrike. The band is riding a wave of success and is in demand at heavy metal festivals across Europe. In Jyväskylä for the first time in a long while!

Angel Sword
The world is ablaze, but Helsinki’s weekend warriors are ready! Having released three full-length albums and in peak live form, Angel Sword drinks the priests’ vomit and worships only the ancient gods of heavy metal. It is Heavy-Rock magnificence! Fanning the flames is master of the blaze and original living relic from ancient times, DJ SALAMANTERI.
