Sitkeä Kahle

"It is a stubborn shackle that does not let go of its teeth, but bites deeper and deeper." Sitkeä Kahle is a dance work that explores freedom and letting go. Ever since childhood, someone always has a grip on our freedom. Systems and individuals have a great influence on our actions and the course of our stories. For this reason, we easily end up shackling ourselves, we yield to others' trampling and subjugation. What is free will? Can we reach the light at the end of the tunnel if we just reach far enough? The work is directed and choreographed by Johanna Lampinen. The work consists of prepared choreography as well as free movement and improvisation. The working group's process includes an exploratory, playful and curious approach to dance and harnessing one's own movement. The work's music consists of instrumental beats made and produced by the Errade-Aires rap duo. On stage you will see Ellen Jokinen, Emma Kanninen, Venla Kontio, Kaisa Miettinen, Elsa Mättö, Milla Peltoniemi, Iida Reina, Sera Seppälä, Iiris Suortamo and Iida Turtiainen. How do you react to the machine's shackles?
