Lighting More Wisely!

Light pollution affects the behaviour, movement and living conditions of many insects active at night, such as moths. What is the insect world of dusk and darkness like, and why is it vital to nature, including us humans? How could we light our surroundings in ways that cause as little harm as possible to these insects? We’ll explore the topic after the autumn meeting of the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation’s Jyväskylä regional association, in Wolmarinsali at Jyväskylä City Library, starting at 18:00. The event’s expert speaker is Anssi Vähätalo, University Lecturer and Docent at the University of Jyväskylä. A warm welcome to listen and join the discussion!
