The original and stirring film Wicker – Woven from Passion is a comedy about marriage and the absurdity of society’s norms, starring Oscar winner Olivia Colman and Alexander Skarsgård. A single fisherwoman (Olivia Colman), fed up with the villagers’ narrow-mindedness, decides to order herself a husband—made of willow—from the local basket maker (Peter Dinklage). The man woven from willow (Alexander Skarsgård) has more husband potential than she could have expected. Her unexpected spouse awakens new feelings in her and sets off a wave of infatuation, jealousy, and upheaval that threatens to shake the entire village community. This sharp-tongued, humorous comedy boldly breaks with conventions and challenges audiences to consider love and marriage from an entirely new perspective. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2026.
