Learn to crochet

The autumn of 2026 will see the start of Crochet Lessons in the Matara lobby, which are open to crochet beginners and experienced crocheters alike. We'll start from the basics and proceed at each participant's own pace. You'll learn the granny square. You can also bring your own crochet project and join us to share updates. Matara has yarns available, and we can lend you a hook for the crochet session. You're also welcome to bring your own supplies, so you can continue crocheting at home. If your project is not completed right away, you can come back and continue working on it together with the others. Possibilities include making potholders, slippers, cushion covers, or small bags.
