Miss Marple and the Staring Gaze

Miss Jane Marple is enjoying a peaceful retirement in an English village, but after injuring her ankle and being confined at home, even a sore leg cannot stop the amateur detective from becoming embroiled in a fiendishly complicated murder mystery. Gentle and humorous, yet razor-sharp, Miss Marple notices what others do not. When famous film star Marina Gregg moves to the village and a local woman, the perfectly ordinary Heather Lee, is poisoned at her cocktail party, the mystery is set. Was the film star Marina Gregg meant to be the target of the murder? Who would want a famous film star dead? Chief Inspector Dermot Craddock is even summoned from Scotland Yard to investigate, but in the end the perceptive Miss Marple’s help is needed. Murmuu-teatteri brings to the stage a masterful crime story by Agatha Christie, queen of crime fiction, where a dark crime, British humour and a classically intricate plot meet amid the idyllic scenery of the English countryside. The play premieres on the stage of Muurame Cultural Centre on 17 October 2026.
