A Relaxed Pyjama Party Concert

What happens when an entire choir decides to swap its concert clothes for pyjamas? Viihdekuoro JyväSet’s pyjama party, of course! On Thursday, 12 November, at Kortepohja Daycare School and Sunday, 15 November, at Palokka School, there’s no need to dress up—in fact, the opposite. Pyjamas are positively recommended concert attire, as this time JyväSet journeys with music into the world of dreams. Expect a gentle concert where you can laugh, sigh, daydream and perhaps yawn a little. The songs wander through landscapes of dreams and aspirations, the realm of nightmares and the atmosphere of sleepless nights. And Nukkumatti hasn’t been forgotten either—he may well appear before the audience has time to count to ten. The concert’s theme is “A Relaxed Pyjama Party,” for grown-ups, and the choir members have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into it under the direction of Jaana Eloranta. Pianist Sinikka Kivelä and Jyväskylän Sana-Sepot, led by Hellevi Piispanen, are also taking part wholeheartedly. Together, they will guide JyväSet towards night—but promise to make sure the audience doesn’t fall asleep too early. Tickets cost €15 and include a nightcap. If you arrive wearing pyjamas, your ticket costs €12. Woollen socks, as well as Ainot and Reinot slippers, are also highly recommended concert attire. At the end of the concert there will be a woollen-sock raffle; if luck is on your side, you might take home a warm pair.
