For the Joy of People – Femmineo 30 Years

Diskanttikuoro Femmineo celebrates 30 years of existence on Saturday, 14 November 2026! Founded in 1996 as a music institute choir, the group has grown into an independent choral association and has spread the joy of music for three decades. At the heart of the choir’s work are openness to new ideas, ambition, a sense of community, and singing together. The choir has been led by music institute principal Reijo Mustakallio, folk musician Liisa Matveinen, and teacher Mirjam Ruohonen. Music educator, choir conductor, and kantele teacher Morgan Sotejeff has led our choir since 2020. Now it’s time for the anniversary concert! The programme is a cross-section of the choir’s most beloved songs from the years, alongside new works. The concert’s special guest is the kantele ensemble Säröttäret. The evening will culminate in the premiere of a work dedicated to us by our choir conductor. Former choir members will also take the stage. An unforgettable event full of surprises awaits! During the interval, we’ll offer everyone coffee and cake. You can learn about the choir’s history and take part in a raffle, with prizes including demonstrations of the choir members’ talents and donations from local entrepreneurs.
